WORLD MEDALS

BRITISH AWARDS

(J4) A British Victorian Boar War Medal being commonly called the Queen South Africa Medal, with three bars. The bars are Belfast, Orange Free State and Cape Colony. The medal which is heavily polished, is named to 4148 Pte. J McLachlan Royal Scots. The bars are all nicely rivetted to the medal and with it comes some research showing that John McLachlan enlisted on 12th August 1891 when he went to and where he went. It shows he served in the East Indies at one time, as well as South Africa. The campaigns he took part in, his short service paper and medal bar entitlement. Very nice item to acquire.

The badge is of nice quality although it has a tarnish spot to the scroll on the left side and a solder run from the silver harp onto part of the title roll at the base.
