(J454) A Russian or Eastern Front Medal. The award is of nice quality but has age tarnished over the years and shows residue of cleaning etc. The silver edge and helmet are still ok and the gunmetal finish is also in reasonable condition, it just appears the cleaning has left powder residues, which could be sympathetically cleaned. Of very nice quality, the ribbon loop is unmarked. Given for service on the Russian Front for the winter war campaign 1941/42, the award was highly regarded by the German armed forces and as such, the award was allowed to be worn, like the Iron Cross from the second button hole of the tunic GBP £30.00 (UK Pounds)
(J455) A nice used example of an earlier issue Russian/Eastern Front Medal. The award has been oxidised and silvered. The oxidised plating has started to bubble off as can be
seen from the scan. The medal itself though is in good condition and a nice example.
Given for service on the Russian Front for the winter war campaign 1941/42, the award was highly regarded by the German armed forces and as such, the award was allowed to be
worn, like the Iron Cross from the second button hole of the tunic GBP £25.00 (UK Pounds)

(J805) A Mid War Russian Front Medal in very nice condition. The medal still retains most of it's original silver and oxidised colouring. The medal is non maker marked and is of
very nice quality and construction. GBP £30.00 (UK Pounds)
(J1140) A Russian Front Medal being of mid war construction. The medal has started to flake it's original finish, giving it a slate grey appearance. This has not been helped by the fact it is the original lacquer that is pulling the finish from the medal. In very good condition. Recently acquired from a house clearance in Germany, this item has never been in a collection. GBP £35.00 (UK Pounds)
(K96) A Nice Russian Front Medal being the Earlier type with the plated centre and silver plated edge. The award is complete with a nice length of original ribbon that is nice and clean. The silvered finish is approximately 95% intact and the gunmetal bluing is approximately 80% giving a lovely appearance to the award. Increasingly hard to find in this condition. GBP £40.00 (UK Pounds)
(H399) A late war grey zinc Silver washed Eastern People's Medal of Merit 1st Class. The award is in nice condition overall, although the zinc has pulled in the silver wash. Given to both Germans and the Ostvolk, these silver decorations were equal to either an Iron Cross or War Merit Cross 1st Class. Becoming increasingly hard to find. GBP £145.00 (UK Pounds)
(H400) An Eastern Peoples 1st class Medal of Merit. The award is the earlier silver plated style and is the scarce variation type with a flatter back and no rope border around the flower design. The award has a nice hinge, hook and pin fixing to the reverse and is a nice variation not often encountered. Allowed to be worn by both German and Eastern units, the award ranked above the Iron Cross and War Merit Cross 1st class and if a German was awarded this, he was required to be a holder of these previous awards before he could qualify for this award. GBP £225.00 (UK Pounds)
(H401) An Eastern People's 1st class Medal of Merit in gilt washed zinc. The award is the 1st class higher grade and although the gilt wash has faded, it is still apparent on the award. German troops couldn't qualify for the gilt issue and as such, these are harder to find. In very nice condition and scarce to find. GBP £150.00 (UK Pounds)
(H584) An Ostvolk Medal of Merit 1st Class in Silver. The award is in very nice condition The decoration has toned as is normal for these, over the years, and has the usual pin configuration. Very nice to find, these awards in silver could be given to both Eastern and German volunteers. The decoration was amongst many items that were picked up by a British Soldier who was a camp guard and was stationed at an SS barracks. He acquired many items by swapping, trading and purloining at the end of the war or which this is one of them. GBP £ 140.00 (UK Pounds)
(J6) A very rare Silver Eastern Peoples Award 1st Class with swords. This is the type without the rope border, shown in the German Dr. Doehle book. Very few of this type turn up with the more common being the marked 100 examples. This one is in very good condition. GBP£225.00 (UK Pounds)
(J35) An Ostvolk Medal in Gold with Swords. The award is in nice condition overall and is the standard style with the rope border. There is not much of the original gilt finish left to the badge with most being seen to the reverse on the pin. Given for bravery by the Eastern units, this award rated above the Iron Cross 1st class. Scarce to find. GBP £130.00 (UK Pounds)
(H1149) An Ostvolk Decoration 2nd Class being probably the Bronze grade. Comes complete with an original piece of green ribbon. The award is with swords and shows a hard life. The ring is unmarked on this example, but the award is probably one of the 100 marked manufactured type. In good condition. GBP £60.00 (UK Pounds)
(J414) A poorly cleaned Eastern People's Award With Swords in good condition. The award was recently recovered in one of the Eastern countries and then acid dipped by the looks of it and cleaned. The grade of the award is gold and there is no ribbon with the award. (NEW ribbon Supplyed) The ring which is also gilt plated, is starting to flake. I think the award will tone down given time and as such, is priced for condition. GBP £60.00 (UK Pounds)
(J1043) An Ostvolk 2nd class bronze medal with outswords. The medal is complete with it's original green watered ribbon. |
(J1044) An Ostvolk 2nd class bronze medal with swords. The medal is complete with it's original green watered ribbon and pin on clip sewn to the top. GBP £85.00 (UK Pounds)
(J1574) An Eastern People's (Ostvolk) Bravery and Medal of Merit Award. The award is the type without swords for merit and is in very nice condition with the bronze finish being slightly absorbed by the zinc base metal. The award is complete with it's watered silk green ribbon, which is in nice clean condition, which also has the pin attached. The award is overall a good clean example of an increasingly hard award to find. The item was a British veteran bringback from the Reichs Chancellery at the end of the war. GBP £99.00 (UK Pounds)
(K91) A Bronze Eastern Peoples Bravery Decoration With Swords. The award is in very nice condition and is the type with the rope border. The award comes with it's original green ribbon and pin and is the type associated with the manufacturer 100 although the award is unmarked. The award retains most of it's original bronze finish. Becoming hard to find these awards, they have been creeping up steadily in price over the last few years, with most of them being sold to Russian and German collectors. GBP £75.00 (UK Pounds)
(J1146) A nice German Italian Campaign in Africa Medal, mounted on it's original piece of ribbon. The award is the heavy type and is both designer and maker marked. Very hard to find now, originals have disappeared from the marked place. Recently acquired from a house clearance in Germany, this item has never been in a collection. GBP £125.00 (UK Pounds)
(J19) A nice example of a used and worn Bronze Spanish Cross. The cross is of nice quality metal with a bronze wash applied. This has receded from the cross giving it a pleasant two toned appearance. The cross is nicely convexed and of multi construction with a separately applied centre. The eagles holding swastikas, have three of the four arms cut out and the cross has a nice pin hinge and hook fixing of early quality. The award is also nicely dished. GBP £600.00 (UK Pounds)
(J167) A nice used and worn example of a Spanish Cross in Bronze with Swords . The cross is unusual in the fact that they have fixed the pin and hook upside down, like ones sometimes illustrated in books such as "Du und Dein Heer" where in a drawn illustration it shows the Spanish Cross with the sword hilts up, just as this one is. The badge has no cut outs to the eagles holding the swastikas and it is the type with the pin similar to those found on SA Sports badges. When all is said and done, a nice example of a rare used Spanish Cross, that could possibly have been a gold but we are grading as a bronze and pricing as such. The badge was part of a group of items removed by a British Soldier at the end of the war and stored away until now GBP £650.00 (UK Pounds)
