EAGLES BOTH METAL AND CLOTH FOR THE TUNIC

(F497) A Last Ditch Screen Printed German Army Breast Eagle. The Eagle is in very good condition and is printed onto a heavy gauge cotton material. This item, along with a load of other items, was acquired at the end of the war by a British Serviceman and have only recently come onto the market. This style of Eagle is very rare with very few original examples encountered.

(H1249) A scarce example of an Old Comrades Navy pin on Breast Eagle in gilt. The badge has been used and worn in service and has had the hook broken and one of the sword hilts broken off and there is a ding to the black enamel iron cross centre. Taking all this into account and with the rareity of the badge, it is priced for condition and rareity.

(J224) A Navy Eagle for the Summer Tunic being of early quality Bronze metal with a gilt finish. The badge is complete with it's original pin and hook but the bottom stabilizer hook has broken. Very nice quality, worn by both naval and general army grade rank officers on their white summer tunics.

(J1200) A Machine Embroidered SS Arm Eagle for OR's and NCO's. The Eagle has been removed for a tunic and has been cut around the Eagle's shape. The Eagle has been blacklighted and threads tested for nylon and it passed both tests and I feel it is one of the later 43 patterns. Very scarce to find

(J1368) A nice example of a German Fire Police Arm Eagle with the wording "Werkfeuerweh". This was a utility arm eagle with this title and is an eagle that surprisingly doesn't turn up that often. Scarce to find.

(J1607) A Breast Eagle for the NSKOV. The breast eagle is maker marked to the reverse 19 GES GESCH and has the hinge and hook countersunk into the reverse of the badge. The front has a nice enamelled iron cross to the centre of the eagle and the badge is approximately 3 inches long. The Eagle was amongst a group of others recently purchased and had been stored away until now.

(J1792) A German Army Sports Vest Emblem of black woven eagle on a white half moon backing. The vest emblem is unmounted but has a little dirt to it, nothing too serious. Other than this, the emblem would be classed as near mint.

HAT AND CAP BADGES

(F502) A Bevo Woven Panzer OR ranks combined Cap Eagle and Cockade for the Ski Cap. The combination is mint and unworn, although there is some staining to the blackened rayon silk backing. The badge is in very nice condition and very scarce to find nowadays. This item, along with a load of other items, was acquired at the end of the war by a British Serviceman and have only recently come onto the market.

(F588) A nice example of a Schalburg Danish Cap Badge in Silver Bullion on black. The cap badge has lost a lot of it's threads that pick out the detail and the silver bullion has oxidised in places. The cap badge shows signs of being removed from a cap. A very scarce item to acquire.

(J33) An SS Cap Eagle. The eagle was recently recovered from Poland/Germany by a metal detectorist, in relatively good ground. The eagle is complete with both pins and shows light corrosion marks to the reverse. The pins look to be fine. There is a die crack though to the top of the eagle's head and there is also what appears to be a solder repair to the eagle on the righthand wing. Other than this, the badge is in very nice condition and increasingly hard to find. The badge may possibly clean further although I wouldn't bother personally.

(H1475) A used and worn example of a Luftwaffe Hermann Goring Black Cap Eagle. The eagle is cut close to the white cotton in places but can clearly be seen. A very hard and rare eagle to find.

(J498) A Political Leader's Cap Eagle with both pins intact. The eagle is facing right and is in later zinc metal and is still of good quality and construction. This item was on a soldier's felt display board, along with many other items that were taken at the end of the war.

(J737) A nice example of a very rare Cap Eagle being the larger SA Kepi type. The badge is of very nice quality and condition with a blackened infill around the swastika. The reverse is maker marked RZM M1/52 and has both pins intact. Very scarce to find, listed in the Assmann Catalogue as item number 22347 for the Police and SA/SS. This item was found in a house clearance in Germany.

(J1208) A Police Cap Eagle that was liberated at the end of the war by a British POW after his release. The eagle is complete with both pins and is the second type of eagle and wreath. The top part of the wreath above the eagle's head has been bent forward to take the peak cap, more snugly. Scarce to find.

(J1280) A rare to find RLB Air Defence Cap Badge with a nice enamelled swastika that is very finely painted over the aluminium badge and then fire hardened. This has chipped in a couple of places but nothing too bad. The cap badge is complete with all three pins to the reverse and it is in very nice condition overall.

(J1281) A nice gilt Political Eagle with the head facing left. The gilt eagle retains all three pins and is maker marked RZM M1/120. The eagle retains a large proportion of it's gilt finish with the burnished swastika still glinting quite nicely.

(J1734) A Nice Navy Cockade Cap Badge, consisting of the eagle and swastika with the roundel below. This is the type worn on the Donald Duck cap badge. The badge is complete with it's pin which is a needle pin. The eagle retains most of it's gilt finish although this has toned over the years, due to it's storage.The badge was recently found with a load of naval and other insignia and was brought back by a British Serviceman and stored away in a roof until discovered by builders.

The eagle has been cut from the tunic and as such, only has part of it's original cloth backing intact. The eagle also shows some age staining etc, but is still a nice original example.

(J693) An SS Sports Vest Emblem consisting of a black circle edging encompassing a white circle with two black SS runes to the middle. The emblem has been removed from a tunic and is still complete with it's label to the reverse. There are also a couple of modern glue marks where it has been stuck onto something. Allegedly picked up by a British Navy serviceman at the end of the war.

(J477) A nice Naval Trade Patch for the admiral staff consisting of a circular patch with two crossed flag staffs with two red and white flags. The patch is in very nice condition and has no mothing to it. A nice patch to find, could only be worn by a few naval members. One of the scarcest patches to acquire.

(J534) An NSKK Driver's Badge that originally came with a citation. The badge is of zinc construction with the maker's mark of RZM M1/52 to the reverse. The badge is painted red and black to the front and therefore I think is a male driver's badge. The badge was part of a group of items acquired by an American Serviceman, during and after the war.

(J579) An unidentified Cloth Badge which I believe is probably and Old Comrades badge showing an embroidered NSDAP flag and tri colour flag with an anchor as the central design. The woolen backing if there was one has been mothed away. A nice and unusual item. Recently picked up in the Baltic.

(E333) A Waffen SS collar patch for the Italian SS 29th division. The patch shows the Italian Fasces on a black cloth patch. A picture of this type of patch can be found in the book Foreign Legions of the Third Reich Vol. 2 by David Littlejohn on page 240. The patch is in vgc.

(E1005) A Waffen SS collar patch for the Kaminski brigade who had the POHA Armshield. The patch is of the type often stated to be from the Dachau concentration camp find of proposed insignia etc and this one matches these identically. In nice over all order and condition. These are items are becoming very scarce.

(J915) A nice example of the seldom encountered Dutch SS Collar Patch. The patch is the type often described as the dacheu type that were manufactured there. The patch is the type with the horizontal silver wolf's hook embroidered to the black backing cloth. The cloth is a nice soft backing, more of a mixture than a rough wool of finer wools. The patch is then in turn mounted onto a fine hessian sack backing and has the white cotton edge threads associated with the dacheu manufacture. The patch is near mint and very hard to find. Worn by the 23rd Nederland division.

(J918) A scarce to find Latvian double swastika Collar Tab for the 19th SS Division. The patch is the type that is called the Dachu manufacture and is consistent with all those found from this source. The patch is also described as the concentration camp guards patch but photographic evidence has now linked it to the 19th Lativan SS Unit. Very nice unused condition, it is believed that this and several others were picked up at the end of the war and stored away until now. Very scarce to find

(J1486) A small size Luftwaffe backed Cloth Rank Patch. The patch is a chevron shape with a aluminium braid and is for the rank Greifreiter. Nice and unusual item. Recently acquired from a German house clearance agent, the cross was in amongst a pile of Luftwaffe and NSFK insignia

(E222) A POA Russian Liberation Army armshield being the screen printed type that is in unmounted and near mint condition. The shield is still nicely coloured with no fading and has been uv and flame tested and passes both.

The design shows a mosque and above the mosque are the words 'Tanri Biz Meneni' which means 'God is With Us'. A very scarce Arm Shield to find. (F1453) A German Army Foreign Volunteer's Armshield being for the Eastern units. This one is for the Bergkaukasien area and shows the title of the area to the top and a blue shield with three horses heads coming out from a circle. This is the second design of armshield for this group.The region they are is north caucasians and this type of shield was introduced in 1943. One of the hardest ones to acquire. In unused near mint condition, the shield was picked up as a trophy at the end of the war.

(G410) A Cloth Armshield for a foreign volunteer showing a diagonal silver stripe on a red background backed onto a green piece of cloth. Very crudely made, it would appear they have actually cut up a set of dagger straps for the silver tress through the centre. An illustration is shown in the publication "Foreign Legions of the Third Reich" on page 279 Vol. 4 and it is accredited to a Russian unit under Helmuth von Pannwitz. Quite scarce to find.

(G411) A very strange rare and unusual piece of insignia, acquired by myself in the 1980's from a POW Camp Guard and to this day, I have still not been able to identify it. The badge consists of a small black oval cloth base, with a silver wreath and a silver bar with a rising sun, although it could also be described as an indian South American style of hat, (as opposed to the sun), this is what you would have to make your mind up on. The badge has been removed from a tunic and shows general wear and tear but nothing bad. The camp it came from was for SS and foreign volunteers and anyone in a black uniform. The badge is in very good condition and priced at

ARMBANDS

(H605) An Unterofficers machine woven Cuff Title. The title is in near mint condition and appears not to have been worn. Instituted in 1940, the band is of superb quality with nice clean aluminium threads. Reference to the band can be found in the book "German Military Cuffbands 1784 - present" by Gordon Williamson and Thomas McGuirl on page 93.

(H1470) A nice small size screen printed Mini NSDAP Party Arm Band. The band is about 1/3 the normal size and was given to stewards etc. at rallies. The band has been black light tested and doesn't glow.

(K276) A Waffen SS Enlisted Man's Cufftitle for the "Horst Wessel" Division The band is the bevo woven type and is in very good condition, Being a full length cuff title it was for the18.SS-Freiwilligen- Panzergrenadier-Division "Horst Wessel". This division comprised mostly of Volksdeutsche Germans. This is a machine woven black rayon construction cufftitle with BeVo machine woven Latin script, "Horst Wessel" in silvery/grey cotton thread. The cufftitle is bordered at both the top and bottom edges with interwoven, vertically stitched, silvery/grey cotton thread. The cufftitle has the typical "salt & pepper" pattern reverse.The letters are very clear. A scarce piece of very desirable SS cloth. The division proved itself with a good reputation for a later numbered SS unit. The only downside being there is a piece of wear to the cuffband on the front of one of ends. Other than this, it would have been classed as mint.

CAP TALLYS

(J1821) A German Navy Cap Tally for a member of the 2nd marine Unteroffizier Lehrabteilung 2. This is for a navy NCO training unit. The band has the title in gold wire woven into the tally and the tally is approximately full length. Not an often encountered cap tally, with many of the U-boat NCP's and later officers being trained by these units.

(K4) A Nice example of the Gilt Rayon woven Kreigsmarine Cap Tally for wear on the Donald Duck type cap. The cap tally is near full length and in good clean condition. There are no marks or pin holes that I can see and the tally appears to have been recently removed from a cap. Becoming harder to find a universal war cap band.
