(G995) An Iron Cross 1st Class 1914 being a Screwback example manufactured during the Third Reich period. The cross has been convexed and appears to my eyes to have been resoldered partially. The cross has some minor rusting to the black
core and apart from this, is in very nice condition. Scarce to find. GBP £120.00 (UK Pounds) |

THE GERMAN CROSS (DK) 1941 IN METAL AND CLOTH FORM
|
(E317) A War Order of German Cross in Gold in metal, The cross is a nice used mid
war example with the nice cupal sandwich effect which can be seen on the edge of the star.
Though the award is not maker marked it can be put down to the well known firm of Steinhaur and
Luck who made amongst other items the Knights Cross. The enamelled swastika on this example
is scratched But it is not chipped and the silver roundel is age stained . GBP £1100.00 (UK Pounds) |
(F771) A nice example of a used and worn German Cross in Gold. The cross when originally purchased,
was stated to have been the property of a Haupt Wolfgang Hasche of 6./GR 163 and awarded to him on 1.12.1943.
It was also stated that he was listed as missing in action and suddenly reappaered in 1946!
The Cross ia a lightweight type made by No. 20. The cross has the coupal sandwich effect and shows
moderate wear and usage. To the reverse, the four doughnut rivets are intact and it appears that at
some time the cross has been heated on the right hand rivet, to tighten it and this shows through
on the lefthand rivet also. A fault that sometimes happened when using and wearing these crosses.
The cross has no bad enamel damage and only shows only very minute surface wear. The silver back plate
has tarnished and the blackened star has worn down to the brass in places giving the cross a very pleasing
appearance. The maker's mark of No. 20, which is Zimmermann - one of only a few firms capable of making such
a complex award - can be found under the pin
GBP £1200.00 (UK Pounds) |
(F1100) A well worn and used being pulled from a tunic, German Cross in cloth in Gold. The cross has none
of it's backing cloth remaining, although it has the backing cloth intact. The cross is nice and clean and I
would suggest is probably a Luftwaffe issue, but who knows. There is a little piece of the silver wire
missing from around the edge, other than this, all in very nice order, apart from, as I say, the cloth
where it was removed. GBP £275.00 (UK Pounds) |

(F119) A Mini Iron Cross 1st class 1939 by the famous maker C. E. JUNCKER and stamped L/12 to the centre
of the cross. The cross has the same frame attributes as it's larger sized counterpart and the cross is of
superb quality and condition. It is one of only 3 that I know of. A very rare item to acquire. GBP £1250.00 (UK Pounds) |
(G1444) An Iron Cross 1st Class in very good condition, although the cross has been used and worn in combat and shows wear and tear with some contact marks on the right hand front side arm, as can be seen from the scan. The cross is maker marked L/11 and retains virtually all of its paint. The silver frame has toned and tarnished over the years, but is in nice condition. This item was purchased along with some items belonging to a Major from Infantry Regiment No. 61. As I have no proof to this, just sold on it's own rather than a group. GBP £150.00(UK Pounds)

IRON CROSSES 1939 2nd Class Awarded for

(G687) A nice Iron Cross 2nd class in reasonable condition for a used and worn example. The cross is constructed in the usual three piece manner and is a maker marked "100". There is some paint wear to the swastika and some darkening to one of the arms as can be seen on the scan. The silver frame, which retains a high percentage of it's original frosted and burnished finish, is tarnished and could probably do with a mild clean. All in all, a nice used example GBP 65.00 (UK Pounds) |
(G810) An Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 that appears to be a sleeper. The cross's frame is in very good condition appearing to be the spun style. The core again is in nice condition with only some minor rusting to the swastika as can be seen from the scan. Very nice to find GBP £65.00 (UK Pounds) |
(G1361) A Iron Cross 2nd Class ring stamped No 3. The cross retains virtually all of it's original silvered finish which is frosted and burnished, although a couple of arms show tarnish where it has been held. However, this should come off if so desired. The cross's black painted centre is also approximately 99% intact, with only a minuscule scratch to the back at the 9 o clock position. Other than this, it would be near mint. The cross comes complete with a full piece of uncut ribbon and is a nice example by this maker, Deumer. The cross was part of a group of items picked up by a British Army Officer who was in command of a bren gun team who won the Military Cross. This is one of the last items he had. GBP £80.00 (UK Pounds)

BARS TO THE IRON CROSSES 1ST CLASS
|
(D1304) A Bar to the Iron Cross 1st class being the early Screwback style. The bar is identical to the one shown in Gordon Williamson's book The Iron Cross, on page 161 which they credited to me. This one isn't the one shown, although it could be it's twin!. The clamshell and clasp appear to be nicely silvered and early quality metal. The radiant screwback disc shows moderate wear and useage but the class itself has frosted and burnished finish.. All in all, a very nice to near mint example. GBP 350.00 (UK Pounds) |
(F925) A Bar To Iron Cross 1st class being a late war example in grey slate zinc. The bar is unmarked but has
been identified as the type made by Deumer and features their hinge and hook arrangement. An identical example is
found in the book "The Iron Cross of 1939" by Gordon Williamson on page 182. A front and back as well as a short
write up is given. In very good condition for a late war example with nice clear crisp striking. GBP 175.00 (UK Pounds) |
(G936) A nice example of the Bar to the Iron Cross 1st Class by the well known maker BH Mayer. The bar is unmarked but is a standard textbook example for this maker and can be found listed in any good reference book. The bar is of nice early quality with it's frosted and burnished finish In near mint condition very hard to find like this.

Bars to the Iron Cross 1st & 2nd Class 1957 for 1914 Veterans
|
(E1409) A pin on 1st class 1939 bar to the Iron Cross 1914. This is the 1957 version and is a hollow pressed example as worn over the original 1914 version. Becoming increasingly hard to find as very few vererans from the 1st war reserved in the West German armed forces. The item is in very good to near mint condition. GBP £50.00 (UK Pounds) |
(E330) A standard 1957 replacement Bar to Iron Cross 2nd class. These were given to WWI veterans who again
served in WWII and reserved in the West German Armed Forces. The bar is in very nice condition and becoming
hard to find now. GBP £40.00 (UK Pounds) |
German Cross in Gold & Silver issued in 1957 for 1939 Veterans
|
(F626) A 1957 German Cross in Silver. The cross is a nice early 1960's manufactured item and these are quite
scarce to acquire as very few of the original holders rejoined the West German Armed Forces. The cross's original
back silver star appears to be a wartime coupal example.
