IRON CROSSES 1870 1st Class REPLACEMENT
(L19) A scarce example of a Third Reich manufactured Iron Cross 1st Class for 1870. The award is identical to an 1870 with the thinner frame. It is only when turned around that the hinge, hook and pin givei it away as a third reich example, as the hardwear used is the type found on the marked 100's. The cross is manufactured in the standard way with an iron core to the centre and a silver frame encompassing it. This is nicely soldered up around the edges with no splitting or cracking. The item was removed reputedly, from a shop window at the end of the war and stored away as a souvenier. An unusual item. At one quarter of the price of it's older counterpart GBP £450.00 (UK Pounds)
(L257) A set of hollow pressed Oakleaves to the 1870 Iron Cross 2nd Class. The oakleaves have two prongs to the reverse that have been bent into a claw shape. The whole thing is non magnetic and the silver plating is nicely done to the clasp. Scarce to find. GBP £99.00 (UK Pounds)

IRON CROSSES 1914 1st Class
(L345) A museum made Iron Cross 1914 Breast Star. The star is of very nice quality and condition and has what appears to be a very nicely made one piece Iron Cross riveted to a bronze brass silver plated back star. The quality is very nice and the star has a nice quality pin fitting hinge and hook to the reverse. There are no maker's marks to be seen or stamps. The item is old because of the tarnish and die work and is believed to have been part of a patriotic display that was removed at the end of the war and kept by a British Serviceman. An original is unobtainable, a quality wartime copy like this must be quite rare. GBP £ 500.00 (UK Pounds)

THE GERMAN CROSS (DK) 1941 IN METAL AND CLOTH FORM
(K618) A Nice used example of a German Cross in Cloth being in Gold and for the Luftwaffe. The cross has the little fault on the line but over the years, the wreath has toned dark bronze. The white silk background also has a bronzish tinge to it now and the cross's cloth is cut a little bit tight and I would suggest this is how it was cut from a tunic recently. The stitching though is still nice and tight and the cross has an overall pleasing appearance. Becoming harder to find. GBP £550.00 (UK Pounds)
