Medals and Awards

(E44) A rare Italian Order of the Roman Eagle 1942-43 type and I believe it to be the Knights Class.class The cross is a nice enamelled item that has been used and worn in service with a couple of enamel chips and dings which is to be expected. The roman eagle's chest has lost it's enamel and there is a chip where the eyering is affixed The cross has the green oakleaf wreath around the edge and crossed swords to denote military service and the reverse shows a bundle of fasces. All the enamelling is very clean clear and crisp and the die work crisp. The cross is contained in it's case of issue that has a compartment for the ribbon and a cut out to take the cross which is mounted on a black velvet backing.l On the underside of the white silk lid is the manufacturer's name and addressand to the top of the case in gold embossed lettering is the initials VE and the royal Italian crown. This is a very rare award and only the second one I have ever had in over twenty years.

(D1517) An Italian regimental medal showing the she wolf over Romulas and Remus and showing an Italian Legionary standard with the lettering Vadunata Naz Artiglieri Roma and to the reverse a soldier holding a rifle with the lettering "Sempree Dovunque". The medal is complete with a piece of ribbon. Vgc

(G431) An Italian GIL Youth's Decoration being a chrome, silver and red enamel cross. The red enamel although bruised, is not chipped. The cross shows considerable wear and tear and has it's original ribbon sewn up as used and worn. Becoming hard to find.

(G855) An Italian 11th Army Cross being constructed of black enamel with an Italian eagle to the centre with the red shield to it's breast. The reverse has the date 16th Novembre 1940 XIX engraved as well as Veemenzae Tenacia. There is also the maker's name of Gmori and a crown with Cif on it. The medal has no enamel damage and is in nice quality and condition.

 (H439) An Italian Artillary Medal for 1935. It is a colonial issue and shows the Italian Artillary emblem and artillary gun. Very nice to find. Slightly smaller than usual.

 (H440) An Italian Silver Medallion with a heraldic coat of arms to one side and a small space for engraving to the reverse, with a fasces symbol. Nice condition.

 (H441) An Italian Medal in Bronze showing an eagle flying over mountains with the wording Forze Armate Harar on the front. To the reverse, it shows an angel and the wording VINCULIS FRACTIS XVEF. There is some slight verdigre to it, but nothing too bad. A nice item.

 (H433) An Italian Colonial Medal in nice co-ordinating enamels (with the ribbon) on bronze showing colonial troops holding a banner with LXXVII on it. It also shows battle honours up to 1940 and is complete with it's coloured ribbon. Very hard to find nowadays.

(H434) An Italian Medal for the 132 Regimento Carristi and shows a tank going over the trenches. To the reverse, the medal has two enamel shields. Very striking. Very hard to find.

(H542) A large size Italian Medallion being 60 mm in diameter. The medallion is for the 9th army and shows the Albanian double headed eagle and the knots of savoy around the edge and the Albanian national hat and to the other side, mountains, with a fasces, a crown and a list of campaigns for Greece and Yugoslavia from 28th October 1940 to 23rd April 1941. A very nice and unusual item of very nice unusual quality and design.

(J511) An Italian Medal for what appears to be Albania. The medal shows both the Italian eagle and double headed Albanian eagle to one side and is for a SPEDIZIONE IN ALBNIA. The front shows several troops standing about. A scarce medal to find.

(J884) An Italian Silver Regimental Medallion for the 35th REGG. ART. SEMOVENTECC which shows to one side a dragon, and to the other side, a tank and the wording TEMPRO IL CUORE ALLA BITTORIA, which would appear to be an Italian regimental medallion. The award has no ribbon loop or ribbon. Other than this, in very good condition.

(J1673) A nice example of an Italian Colonial Medal showing both the head of an Italian and an Ethiopian native, with the Ethiopian native wearing the local headdress. The medal also shows some captured arms to the reverse and the title for Ethiopia and Italy.

(K162) A WWII Italian Greek and Yugoslavian Campaign Medal. The medal shows the Albanian eagle to one side and the pass between Albania and Greece to the other. The medal was issued to the 9th Italian army and this is a later zinc bronze example. Complete with it's original ribbon and in very nice condition. Very hard to find nowadays.

(F534) An Italian ONB/PNF Badge for travel in Germany. A nice impressive size enamel badge in blue. With a black and white swastika and a fasces to the centre. Very nice quality and with a maker name to the reverse. Based in Italy

(G880) An unusual Italian Legion Badge showing an eagle with outstretched wings resting on a fasces with the wording Legion below it. To the reverse of the pin back badge, it has a serial number of PZ873 and it has been suggested that this is for the Italian Black Shirt legions who were attached to the panzer units. Very rare to find.

 (G1228) A nice shield shaped two piece constructed Italian Fascist Badge . The badge has an eagle holding a blue enamelled shield with a scroll to the top, with the wording "Alpini Club Membership". To the centre of the shield is a single star and below that is a silver fasces to the base. This is held onto a silver shield by three bent over prongs on the reverse. The reverse of the badge is maker marked Johnson Roma Milano. The badge is of very nice quality and condition and has a brushed chrome look. Very nice to find and in superb condition. ..

(H22) An Italian (Reale Unione Nazionale Aeronautica (RUNA)) Lapel Badge. The badge is in .excellent quality and condition, the enamel being perfect and the badge shows a Pilot's Badge as it's main design.The makers mark of SAF is found to the reverse button stud.The item is 1.6cm dia.

 (H678) An Italian Albanian Fascist Party Membership Badge in very nice condition. The badge has no chips or cracks to the enamel and is maker marked to the reverse. In nice overall condition.

(H1546) An Italian Factory Worker's Badge. The badge is maker marked to the reverse for a Milan firm and follows more German manufacture than Italian. It consists of a badge with a orange circle with a bar running through the middle and a square and the lettering C.I.S.A.VISCOSA., which was a company based in Rome and continued until the '60's. This company supplied the RSI government with items. There appears to have been a name plate to the top but this has either been removed, or never fitted. This was part of a small collection of WW2 badges that were collected in Europe in 1945 by a British Marine who left them to his brother upon his death. These were in time passed down to the Marines nephew. The British Marine was in the first wave of allied soldiers into Berlin after the Russian withdrawal. These items have only just come onto the market.

(J770) An Italian Submarine Badge with the dolphin and the wording "SOMMERGIBILI" to the top. I think the badge dates from the 1960's and it is in good quality and condition and has a nice silver plating finish.

(J1114) An Italian Enamelled Fasces Badge for the AGF. The badge is rectangular in shape and has a tri colour enamel with the 1st pattern fasces as the main design. The badge is in very nice condition and scarce to find.

(J1661) A nice example of an Italian Youth GIL Badge. The badge is in very nice condition with no enamel damage to either the orange or the red. The badge shows the letters GIL with an M and also a fasces and the shield and sword emblem. The reverse is nicely maker marked and has the nice button stud fixing. Becoming harder to find.

 (H490) An Italian Cap Badge showing two crossed cannons with a flaming grenade and a black cross to the centre. The reverse has a small label that has virtually disintegrated. A nice quality item as probably worn by an Italian Officer in an Italian black shirt brigade.

 (J1084) An Aluminium Pressed metal Italian G.I.L sew on Cap badge in VGC. The badge is stamped to the reverse " RIP VIFTAIA" . The badge is in nice overall condition and this is the first time I have seen it marked to the reverse. All in all a nice example of an Italian Youth's marked cap badge. Recently discovered in an old tin in a garage by the subsequent house owner.

(H682) An Italian Ran Pin for lapel wear for a member of the Italian Airforce. The badge shows an Italian crown with blue enamel (no damage to it), with a silver line and square, with a pilot's badge to the base. In very good condition. The badge is quite scarce to find.

(F323) A pair of Italian Eppaulettes for a member of the Artillary. The Epps are of pressed brass and have their separate button and are mounted onto yellow cloth backing. This, in turn, has it's tunic strap attachment. There is some minor mothing to the yellow backing cloth on both epps, and apart from a slight ding to one of the epps on the brass to the bottom corner, they are fine. In vgc.

(F310) An Italian finger ring with some nice enamelled work showing the colours of the National Flag of Italy and showing through the centre, the following wording ADDIS ABEBA. The ring is of silvered metal and of heavy construction. The ring size is approximately 19.7 mm.wide internally.. The ring was part of a group of items taken from Italian POW's in WWII. In vgc.

 (K283) A Nice Italian PNF Party Membership Badge Card for 1928 that is for the area of Taranto. The holder's photograph has been removed as is often the case. Other than this, the card is in very nice condition, with several stamps to it. A nice rare early card.
