U- BOAT WAR BADGES
Instituted 13.10.193

(J1401) A nice example of a used and worn U Boat Badge. The badge has approximately 70% of it's gilt finish remaining. It is the type with a solid swastika and the eagles chest that is heart shaped. There are no maker marks to the award that I can see, but the eagle's head makes it look more like and L/15 type.

GBP £225.00 (UK Pounds)

U- BOAT CLASPS
Instituted 15.5.1944

Known Makers
Schwerin,in two forms

(K1128) A 1st Pattern U-Boat Clasp in Bronze in Very Nice Condition. The clasp has a nice magnetic pin and hook soldered to the reverse and is maker marked to the left ENTW PEEKHAUS BERLIN and AUSF SCHWERIN BERLIN SW68 to the right. This is all in raised digits. The clasp itself retains most of it's original bronzed finish and has had a bit of customisation to the pin the it's original wearer. Very hard to find the 1st pattern type, these only had a short period of manufacture.

GBP £900.00 (UK Pounds)

(K1143) A Nice example of a 2nd Pattern U-Boat Clasp in Bronze being the type with a magnetic fluted pin that has the hinge cast in and the hook counter sunk into the reverse of the badge. There is also to the left, the wording ENTWURF PEEKHAUS whilst to the right there is the wording AUSF SCHWERIN BERLIN 68. The award is bronze plated and this is virtually mint with only very minor zinc bubbling. The overall condition is very nice with only very minor wear to the high spots. A very rare clasp to find nowadays.

GBP £850.00 (UK Pounds)

NAVY BATTLE CLASPS
Instituted 19.11.1944

(K3) A Nice example of a field made German Navy Marine Front Clasp in Bronze. The clasp is hollow struck in copper and is in very nice condition. These clasps were basically on board ships etc at the end of and after the war and issued to the German troops on aboard such vessels. The clasp is in very nice condition and is relatively well made for such an award. Scarce to find.

GBP £325.00 (UK Pounds)

(J226) A nice mid war example of a Destroyer badge by the well known maker S.H.u.Co. The badge has approximately only 10% of it's gilt finish intact and is a mid to late war zinc example. The badge though is of nice quality and condition. This is maker marked to the reverse with S.H.u.Co. In raised lettering. This is a textbook example. VGC.

GBP £175.00 (UK Pounds)

(L39) A Superb example of an Early Destroyer Badge in Very Nice Condition and manufactured from tombak. Although the badge is unmarked, it can be put down to either Schickle or Meybauer as these badges are identical in construction. The badge was originally shown in the book German Combat Awards by Alan Beadle on page 142. A nice and scarce award to acquire.

GBP £325.00 (UK Pounds)

(L149) A Destroyer Badge in Very Good Condition by the maker WH and as such, as all the attributes you would expect made by this firm. It has both the magnetic pin in the shepherds crook style with a nice wraparound hinge with a pirate hook soldered to he back. The WH is in raised letters to the reverse of the boat and the gilded and silver finish is about 95% intact. For a textbook comparison, please see the new book "War Badges of the Kriegsmarine" by Gordon Williamson page 45 for a similar example. GBP £199.00 (UK Pounds)

(L271) A Nice example of an Early Heavy Quality Tombak manufactured Destroyer Badge. (K1449) A Minesweeper Badge by the well known maker RK. The badge has all the usual features associated with this maker. Firstly, it has a cast in hinge and a separately applied countersunk hook. The RK mark can be found on the tip of the explosion to the reverse in raised letters. A similar version to this can be found in the new book "War Badges of the Kreigsmarine" by Gordon Williamson where it describes this type as the latter zinc example shown on page 99.

AUXILLARY CRUISER WAR BADGES
Instituted 24.4.1941

(K809) A Nice example of a two piece Auxillary Cruiser Badge. The badge has toned silver over the years with the globe still retaining it's silver plate. The reverse is unmarked and both the hinge, hook and pin are intact. There is a tiny singular rivet holding the globe tightly to the badge. The badge would rate mint apart from the fading of the gilt. This was recently purchased in a local auction being formally the property of an old soldier who had died and had his house cleared. This was one of the items amongst many recovered.

GBP £350.00 (UK Pounds)

(K1135) A Superb Early Auxillary Cruiser Badge being of heavy quality tombak metal, with a nice silver riveted globe held to the badge by one single domed rivet to the reverse. The badge still shows it's fire gilt frosted and burnished finish although this has toned a little over the years. But it is prevalent on the swastika, bow, and eagle top wing struts. The badge has a nice silver pin fitted to the reverse and many people consider it to be a Schwerin or Juncker manufacture. Incredibly hard to get like this now. A beautiful badge.

GBP £995.00 (UK Pounds)

HIGH SEAS FLEET WAR BADGES
Instituted 30.4.1941

(J1685) A late war High Seas Fleet Badge by the premier maker Schwerin Berlin and maker marked as such. The badge retains some of it's original finish although this has been polished over the years, with the wreath being now a pale lemon in colour, while the silver plating to the centre is in relatively reasonable condition. The badge is constructed of fine zinc with the platings applied. A nice example of a mid war badge by the well known firm Schwerin. Priced for condition.

GBP £225.00 (UK Pounds)

(J1657) A nice example of a High Seas Fleet Badge by RS & S. This maker is not often encountered and as such, this badge is a nice example to acquire. The badge retains a high percentage of it's original gilt finish with frosting and burnishing still showing through. The badge has a countersunk hinge being the ball type and a nice hook which again is countersunk. The badge has a nice needle pin fixing and the RS & S is raised and to the reverse of the ship. A very nice example of a rare maker.

GBP £299.00 (UK Pounds)

(K45) A Nice example of the French manufactured High Seas Fleet Badge. The badge follows the standard French design and a similar example is shown in the Niemann Price Guide on page 219 where it gives it a value of 250 euros in 2008. The badge also shows the same die flaws as the example illustrated. Scarce to find.

GBP £350.00 (UK Pounds)

(K808) A High Seas Fleet Badge by RS & S. The badge is a textbook classic with the wide broad bladed pin, with the ball hinge and countersunk hook. The mark RS& S is in raised lettering to the back of the badge. The badge retains virtually all of it's gilt and silver wash although this has toned over the years, but the badge still shows its original factory applied lacquer. A nice near mint example. This was recently purchased in a local auction being formally the property of an old soldier who had died and had his house cleared. This was one of the items amongst many recovered.

E BOAT BADGES
Instituted 30.5.1941 For the First patterns and 1943 for the 2nd patterns

(J1675) A nice used and worn E-Boat Badge 1st Pattern. The badge is nice in the fact that it is an LDO private purchase type and maker marked No. 21. The badge has had the top hook knocked off at some time but still retains the horizontal pin, hinge and hook. Of nice mid war construction, the badge retains a high percentage of it's original silvered and gilded finish. Exceedingly hard to find, most badges encountered are the Schwerin type, so it is nice to come across a different maker.

GBP £799.00 (UK Pounds)

(K396) A Very Nice E-Boat Badge 2nd Pattern by the Premier Maker Schwerin. This is marked Fec W E Peekhaus Berlin on on the top line and Ausf Schwerin Berlin on the bottom line. The badge was reputedly removed from a German in Lowestoft. The badge has been used and worn in service and was in fact removed from a German tunic where they broke the top hook off. The gilt wreath has now toned silver but the silver plating of the boat and seas is still intact. The badge has a cut out swastika but a solid flag. In nice quality and condition, the badge could do with a mild clean.

GBP £ 300.00 (UK Pounds)

COASTAL FLAK WAR BADGES
Instituted on 24.6.1941

(J468) An unused but faded Coastal Artillary Badge being unmarked but probably by the firm of Hermann Aurich as it has their type of hinge and hook configuration. The award shows some of the original gilt colour to the wreath etc but this has faded over the years leaving it a two toned greyish colour. The flak gun still retains much of it's original factory lacquer finish and the reverse has a few minor corrosion spots. This all sounds worse than it is. A nice badge.

GBP £110.00 (UK Pounds)

(K81) A late war faded Navy Flak Badge. The badge still shows it's original blackened coastline and sea with the wreath a pale goldy looking colour and flak gun being a silver. The badge is unmarked to the reverse and has a nice pin, hinge and hook fixing. Recently acquired from a collection of veteran items from America, the badge has not been in any other collection.

GBP £125.00 (UK Pounds)

(K1408) A Textbook example of a Coastal Artillary Flak Badge being a privately purchased example maker marked L/56. The badge has all the features one would expect from one of these with the broad bladed pin, the nicely soldered hinge and hook. This type can be found in the brand new book "War Badges of the Kriegsmarine" by Gordon Williamson, on page 279, where a similar example is shown. This badge is manufactured from fine zinc and fits all the requirements of the type shown in the book.

GBP £195.00 (UK Pounds)

(L133) A Near Mint example of a Coastal Artillary Badge by the maker L/21. The gilding has now turned a very pale silver colour with the central coastal flak badge turning grey. Very hard to find this badge with a maker's mark. This is for the firm of Foerster & Barth. A similar example can be found in the new book "War Badges of the Kriegsmarine" by Gordon Williamson on page 278. This item matches the one shown, all bar the hook where this one is soldered directly to the base of the badge. A very scarce maker to acquire.

GBP £175.00 (UK Pounds)

(L644) A mid war zinc based Coastal Flak Badge being maker marked Schwerin Berlin in two lines in raised lettering to the reverse. The badge shows zinc bubbling under the plated finish although this isn't too serious. There is also a large percentage of the gilt finish intact, this has in fact dulled over the years. Nice to find a mid war quality marked example.
