(E1498) A handmade Navy Clasp. This is one of the countless variations that can be found, that appears to have been handmade by a very competant craftsman under field conditions. The clasp consists of a copper central oak leaf wreath with a brass navy button soldered into the centre of the device. To the reverse, there is a steel pin and hook soldered to it giving it an attractive over all look. Re the Clasp, it came from a collection in England. There were two (both different, the other one being one piece), I still have the other one. The original owner I am told, loaned them to Ailsby for his first book (Combat Medals of the 3rd Reich) but as I don't have the book I can't confirm if its in it. The guy died last year and his collection which was pretty big by all accounts, was split up.GBP £200.00
