part of the 293rd Infantry Division which was fighting on the Russian Front possibly transferring to the 295th division, as he was awarded an Iron Cross citation and Infantry Assault citation, one of which bears this stamp. There is also letters to do with him becoming Lieutenant while attached to the infantry replacement battalion 479 again fighting on the Russian Front. There is also a list of his kit, a feldpost letter to his wife, stating his new feldpost number, a leave pass, and a second feldpost envelope to his wife. A nice little grouping  | ||
