(F795) A German Army Other Ranks, what is stated to have been, a Penal Unit Buckle being of silvered steel, with a round pebbled circle to the centre. As is known, these units were denied the use of the National Emblem and Awards and these troops were sent to some of the most dangerous places wheer they were used as cannon fodder to prop up the crumbling front. The chances of survival and or being pardoned in these units, is pretty remote. Very good condition with a little rust stain. The buckle is shown in the book "Belts, Buckles and Brocades" page 83.
