(G631) A very nice Wehrpass set of items belonging to one individual who served throughout WWII. The grouping consists of his Dog Tag, which is numbered 1./N.8.220. This denotes the man was an army signaller. The Wehrpass that accompanies this has the corresponding dog tag noted and shows some high wear and use. The wehrpass shows service from 1935 right through until 1945 and the back has an HQ allied land forces Norway Int.G2 division, initial screening past stamping to the reverse. The wehrpass is well filled out and no attempt at denazification has taken place, although a couple of stampings have had the swastika's removed. The man started out as a Grefreiter and ended up as a Hauptmann. The Wehrpass is very hard to read as most are, but it is well filled in. The list of decorations read as follows;- 1st October with Prague Bar, War Merit Cross 2nd class, Winter War Medal, Infantry Assault Badge in silver, Iron Cross 2nd class, Iron Cross 1st class, War Merit Cross 1st class, Black Wound Badge, and Lappland Shield. Various units are also mentioned and it would appear that he ended up in Norway and helped the allied forces after the war. There also comes with this his following awards;- Silver Infantry Assault Badge, this has been de-nazified, the War Merit Cross 1st class, maker marked 65, this has also been de-nazified, A de-nazified Black Wound Badge, and the superb quality Lappland Shield. Then there is his Ribbon Bar with the Iron Cross, War Merit Cross 2nd class with swords, Russian Front Medal and 1st October with Prague Castle Bar. The bar is in used condition with wear and tear to the ribbons. Then there also comes with it his yellow piped Officers Eppaulettes with two gilt rank pips, and his bevo woven Jaeger Arm Badge. This is unmounted but in good condition. All in all, a superb group to a brave soldier that survived the war. This Wehrpass grouping has recently come from Hamburg direct from the family who had several relatives who served in the German Armed Forces and this is part of a grouping of items. These have never been in a collection GBP £750.00
