(J1738) A Group of Documents, Medals and a Photograph to one man being a Mountain Troop called Rock. He started out as a Jaeger and the three documents list him as such until the 3rd document which has him listed as an Obergreifreiten. He has stayed with the same unit throughout his course of service being 4/Geb.Jäg.Rgt.91 and the documents cover from September 1941 to December 1943 and consists of a Black Wound Badge, a Silver Wound Badge and an Iron Cross. The iron cross is signed by an Oberst.u.Stelvv.Div.KDR. Both the wound badge citations surprisingly are signed in the field by members of the same regiment. The regiment served as part of the 4th Gebirgs division which served in the Balkans and then Russia in the Southern sector of the Caurcasus and later went to Kuban and was withdrawn to the Crimea in 1943. Also, with the documents come a postcard photograph of the holder wearing his mountain troop cap with edelweiss flower, The edelweiss cap badge, being a two piece constructed item, with the central gold part of the flower held by two prongs to the grey zinc. A mountain troop arm edelweis, an Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 that is in overall nice condition with no splitting or cracking to the frame. The frame has virtually all of it's frosted and burnished finish with the black centre, which is magnetic retaining virtually all of it's paint. The cross although unmarked, is probably a maker 100. This comes with an original piece of ribbon that is nice and clean. Then there is a Black Wound Badge which is the second type being of magnetic metal. The badge is unmarked but near mint condition. Finally, a mid war constructed Silver Wound Badge with the hinge and hook cast in to the main construction of the badge. The badge is maker marked 65. A very nice original grouping that has recently come out of Denmark.
