(L3) A Late War Economy Cased War Merit Cross 1st Class With Swords. The case is the two part card case that has had a paper hinge fitted that has now split. It is held by the silk and at some time, someone has tried to glue/repair this and it shows through the silk. The case is the vacuum seal type and has a full silver blocked emblem to the lid. The case other than the repair, is in good condition for a late war case. The award that is contained in the case is a late war war merit cross 1st class with swords by the maker number 3. It has a separately applied hinge and hook to the reverse with the No. 3 stamped to the centre within a box. The cross itself has toned a greyish colour but still has some of the silver attached.
