(M1232) A Black Spanish Type Wound Badge in stove enamelled black paint. This has chipped in a few places, but the over all finish is very good. The badge is of magnetic construction and has a low swastika to the helmet. Nice early hinge and hook quality, the badge is of magnetic construction.
(M1233) A non magnetic example of a Black Spanish Type Wound Badge being the type with the hard stove baked paint finish. The badge is more and oval shape than a round one and has a proper M18 style of helmet with a nice low swastika with no ridge to the helmet. The paint finish is in good over all condition with wear to the highlights, which is to be expected. Over all, the quality of this piece is superb. The dot pattern on this example is very orderly unlike most. A nice one for the variant collectors especially.
(M1234) A Black Spanish Type Wound Badge being what appears to be a slight crossover between the Spanish style and the WWII style with the helmet being a M36 style more than an M18 style. Having said that, the wreath pattern is definitely the WWI style. The badge originally was a black grade, but the paint has been removed from the helmet, sword and wreath, as well as the swastika but left between the arms giving it contrast. A nice unusual variation. In very good condition.
