(CS1818) An German Eastern People's Award, also known as the Ostvolk Decoration. The medal is the 2nd class Silver grade and is without swords and is a merit award. The award has tarnished over the years and is the zinc type with the silver wash, as can be seen from the scan. The award comes complete with its original ribbon and also has a nice ribbon loop, being of better quality metal than the award, which is often the case. This is unmarked but I would suggest the medal is maker 100. Nice to find. An underrated award. This award along with a bundle of other awards were picked up in the Reich Chancellery in May 1945 by a British Serviceman and his details are shown below. Along with his hand written letter stating how he aqured these items. Great to have the history of these items. Priced for condition GBP 120.00 (UK Pounds)

(CS1827) A Nice example of a German Eastern People's 1st Class Silver Medal of Merit being part of the Berlin recovered grouping of awards, taken by a member of the 9th armoured division of the British armed forces. Consisting of many pieces, this is a nice Eastern People's 1st Class Silver Medal of Merit. The award is complete with its original pin fixing, which is marked under the pin 100 and is in nice working order. The award is the silver plated example that has bubbled and lost the plating, as can be seen, over the base zinc. A fine and scarce item being picked up by British servicemen from the Reichs Chancellery. GBP 285.00 (UK Pounds)

(T617) An Ostvolk 2nd Class Medal of Merit in Silver. In very nice condition, the award comes with its original ribbon, unfortunately the pin is missing. The award was given to members of the Eastern People's Units as well as German Personnel that served in these units, although they could only qualify for the silver grades. The 2nd class and 1st class in silver equates to an iron cross 2nd and 1st class respectively and these awards were held in high esteem by the Germans who won them. Priced for pin missing. GBP 110.00 (UK Pounds)

(V52) An German Eastern Peoples 2nd Class Medal in Silver With Swords. This is a standard textbook example manufactured by the maker 100 and marked as such on the medal loop. The medal is silver plated over base zinc and as such, these awards were given to both Cossacks and Germans in these Russian units. The award is complete with its original pin fixing though pulled as can be seen, which is sewn to the ribbon on one side only now.. Very nice to find in this condition GBP 120.00 (UK Pounds)

(V185) An Eastern Peoples Award in Silver for the German volunteer forces, who were classed as Ostvolk coming mainly from the Russian and Eastern troops. This example is a 2nd class merit award in silver being basically zinc with a silver wash. The award is suspended from its original green and white ribbon and is of mid war quality and construction. The award has the remains of its original pin sewn to the ribbon, but has had the hinge and pin removed, so there is just the fixing and hook left. The award is stamped 100 on the medal loop. Priced for condition. GBP 110.00 (UK Pounds)

(V1705) A German Ostvolk Medal in Bronze. The award appears to be one that has been stored badly as there is some corrosion as can be seen from the scan. The Eastern People's Award comes complete with a piece of original but unafixed ribbon. This is the type with no rope border. The award is with swords and therefore was for bravery. Priced for condition GBP 65.00 (UK Pounds)
