Third Reich Medals offer
A Pair of German Documents to a German Medical Doctor for 1939-1945

(CS681) A Pair of German Documents to a German Medical Doctor. The first citation is a full citation for a Russian Front Medal. It is dated 1st August 1942. It is signed by a chief physician and rubber stamped. The second is a field notification citation for the Iron Cross 1st Class from 1st battalion of Gren Reg. 337 and was for action on the 14.4.1943. This like the first one, is folded once. A rare pair of citations to a doctor who would normally only qualify for the War Service Cross and not the Iron Cross. This doctor must have done something pretty spectacular to qualify for this award. The 337 Grenadier Regiment was part of the 208 Infantry Division commanded by Gen Maj Karl Von Schlieben and this division fought heavily in France, and was transferred to Russia where it was in the central sector in January 1942. It also took part in the Kursk offensive in 1943, where it sustained very heavy losses. The document shows the Doctor was wounded and sent the best along with the Iron Cross and Citation from this Grenadier Regiment where it was stated they hope he recovers quickly. A great talking piece, a grouping that has the edge. GBP 99.00
