A German superb example of a Cased Bar to Iron Cross 1st Class
(MC820) A Nice used example of a Mayer Cased 1st Class Bar to the Iron Cross. The bar is a textbook example and shows all the features associated with this maker, like the unique hinge oversized hook that you often encounter. The award has oxidised in places, and could do with a mild clean. But still it retain much of its frosted and burnished finish. The case that the award comes in, is the type associated with the Mayer firm, with the rectangle press stud, full lid design of the bar, though this has worn, as can be seen and to the inside you have a silk lid and a black base. This shows wear and tear and water damage. This all sounds worse than it is, so please look at the scan for details. But its priced taking this all in account. GBP £785.00
