Third Reich Medals offer
A German made Finnish Cross

(S951) An unusual Finnish Cross. The cross is believed to be of German manufacture and comes with a plain back, with the date 1941. The cross is the liberty cross and is believed to be a 2nd class award for the continuation war. The cross is on a piece of ribbon that is similar but not the right type, being a piece for a third class award. The cross has no Finnish hallmarks and is believed to have been manufactured by the firm of Steinhauer and Luck, during the war, the well known company that made the Knight's Cross. Finnish records show that only 1160 of these crosses were awarded during the continuation war. Also, their records show 1419 were manufactured in Finland, so even less would have been made in Germany, making this more rare than a German Knight's Cross. An award that needs further research.GBP 199.00 (UK Pounds)
