A German Cased Gold Wound Badge by No 30

(T470) A Superb example of an increasingly hard to find award, especially in this condition and in its matching Case. The Gold wound badge is of nice quality Early tombak metal and has the maker's stamp of No. 30 to the reverse, for the Vienna State Mint. The badge has the unusual hinge and square clawed hook and has the number 30 stamped approximately to the middle of the badge. The badge has very minor tarnishing as can be seen from the scan. The badge is then contained in its unmarked black hard case opened by a press stud, which works perfectly. The case has a white silk to the underside of the lid and a cream cut out to take the badge, which is nice and clean. A nice feature also is that the hinge cover is fully intact. More often than not, these are split, due to age and wear. There is minimal handling wear to the case and to the underside base, there is a blue label with the wording in white letters HAUPTMUNZAMT WIEN III, which corresponds to the maker's mark No. 30. This set is a superb example scarcely encountereed nowadays in this superb condition. SORRY I AM SOLD GBP 525.00 (UK Pounds)
