A German WWII Iron Cross 1st Class for 1939 in its Case of Issue.

(V1676) A German WWII Iron Cross 1st Class in its Case of Issue. The cross is a nice used example in very good condition with only minor, age, wear and tear as can be seen from the scan. The cross is a maker marked No. 65 by the well known Knight's Cross manufacturer Klein and Quenzer. The cross has no splitting or cracking to the frame or core and has a nice pin, hinge and hook working arrangement with the 65 stamped just 2/3 the way up the pin to the outside. The cross fame has now toned and it has a very pleasing appearance. The hard case the cross comes in has handling wear and tear with part worn monogram to the top. Opened by a press stud and with a working hinge, the inside is age stained and toned. The base lifts out revealing the D and B logo as well as the number code. This has this both stamped into the base and the cutout for the cross to the underside. A nice example and a good starter cross for any collector, who is after a nice used example.
