A German Blood Order & Citation
(V260) A Rare 2nd Pattern German Blood Order in virtually mint condition. The award is numbered 3218 and hallmarked 800 silver. This is found at the base of the Munich monument. The award is oxidised silver, which has tarnished, as can be seen from the scan. The award is in very nice condition and comes with a piece of its original water silk Ribbon. With the medal comes the Original Red Leather Case for the Document. This large size red case has a gold political eagle embossed to the lid. The overall size is 28 cm by 36 cm and once opened, to the inside, holds the Award Document to Ferdinand Moser. There is the embossed paper emblem for the blood order to either side of the citation in the border. The citation is hand filled out and is in very nice condition. Not often found, with the medal being found more often than the citation. So to have a set, is Extremely Rare. In the last 10 years, we have encountered just two. The numbering sequence of the award and the dating of the citation, puts it at approximately 1940 issu, so Early in the war. This means it is probably an Austrian recipient. No research has been done and the grouping is fresh to the market. More Rare than a Knight's Cross, it is estimated only 5000 were awarded, and for obvious reasons, few of these would have been kept. Layaway and trades considered. GBP £17,500.00 (UK Pounds)
