A Third Reich German Early & Rare SS Member`s Golden Party Badge

(V430) A Superb and rarely encountered Single NSDAP German Golden Party Badge to a member of the SS. The badge is the Fuess type and has the maker's name to the reverse spring pin fixing base plate, being Jos. Fuess Munchen. Then there is the number of 29370 following the curvature of the badge. To the front, there is a nice clean finish with very minor wear and tear, though this Fuess as with all other Fuess'es, has the same die flaws one must look out for. The badge is in nice clean condition and as this badge is for an SS member, it was probably not worn as often as the large size one, which would account for its good clean condition. The badge belongs to a Josef Mahler who was born on 27th February 1900 and served in the German military from 1918 to about 1919 and joined the SS in about 1929. He was originally given the SS number of 7285 but it was lowered to 1774. The golden party badge number is also recorded as 29370. There is also much data that comes with this badge, including the fact he was a Blood Order holder, number 316, he also was awarded the SS honour ring, SA sports badge, Julleuchter candlestick, he was promoted to an SS Hauptsturmfuhrer. He died on 21st November 1942 in the East. All this is confirmed in the paperwork along with this SS stickpin number, his SA sports badge in bronze number etc. Etc. A lovely researched grouping to a prominent SS officer who took part in many political as well a military operations. A rare confirmed SS Golden Party Badge, one of only a very few on the market.
